Leveraging Sales 2.0

Radical developments in internet technologies has spawned social networking sites that have become the ultimate disruptive technology, a phenomenon that describes how a new technological innovation, product, or service eventually "overturns the existing dominant technology in the market."

The good news is that, social networks are effective business tools.

Take for instance the following example carried on Marketing Tool Guide website:

#0040a0; font-size: xx-small;">#000000; font-size: x-small;">A little while back I was surprised to find I would sell 4 or 5 Extra laptops in the spand of a day or two. Nothing strange about that except at first I couldn't
find the source of these sales or leads. High converting traffic was coming from somewhere but I couldn't track it within my PPC advertising or my online keywords.

It took some hard study of my weblog stats to discover these sales were coming from Yahoo! Answers. A surfer had placed a question about laptops and someone had posted
one of my URLs in response to this question. Something so simple, yet it points out the effectiveness of these social media sites as marketing vehicles.
Unsolicited comments or endorsements can results in online sales and traffic".

Business is still driven by word of mouth and social networks do that very effectively.

According to Travis Kalanick, a CEO at RedSwoosh, a software company that specialises in digital media, "social networks are like grease, in some cases, gasoline, for our personal business networking." In essence, it means that a company that is not plugged in is left behind to eat the dust!

This is reason why your business must be online so that you are part of the community that is talking about your product and/ or service!
